The city is Ireland's centre for finance, industry, education, media, culture and the arts.
With a population of 1.2 million people, from 153 countries, Dublin is famous for its multiculturalism and the diverse range of food which stems from it.
Since it is the capital city, one will expect a multitude of activities to keep guests preoccupied. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy sailing, cycling, even indoor surfing and skiing.
There is also the Gaelic Athletic Association that lets you experience traditional Irish games. Golfers have a variety of courses to choose from.
There are also pubs and nightclubs to keep you entertained, as well as restaurants and cafes that let you taste local flavor as well international cuisine. Several events are also lined up all the year round including but not limited to festivals and celebrations around Irish dance and music.

Dublin has a cosmopolitan population so the numerous cafes, delicatessens, restaurants and cafes offer a mix of both local and international meals. Asian, Chinese and Indian restaurants are popular. A must when visiting Dublin is a visit to a traditional Irish Pub for a delicious, hearty pub meal.
Dublin nightlife is about raucous crowds and live music by Irish bands in some venues, or more sedate and sophisticated in others. Many concerts and festivals take place throughout the city such as festivals of Irish music and culture, food and drink, film, art, Chinese New Year and the renowned St Patrick's Day festival.
